The black color is achieved through a chemical surface treatment—known as black oxidation—where the outermost layer of the material is converted into a thin, dense oxide film. This process does not build on the material and therefore does not affect fit, tolerances, or mechanical properties.
All our stays are now manufactured with black oxide to minimize the risk of corrosion. We no longer produce stays in other colors.
